Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by performing various tasks related to materials handling, stocking, and shipping and receiving. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Manage inventory using a warehouse management system, ensuring accurate stock levels.
- Handle materials with care during loading and unloading processes.
- Perform picking and packing duties for outgoing shipments.
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, verifying the accuracy of incoming and outgoing goods.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Conduct regular stock checks and assist with restocking shelves as needed.
- Utilise mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues when necessary.
- Engage in heavy lifting as required, ensuring proper technique is used to prevent injury.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals.
- Picking & Packing products for customer order fulfilment.
- Unpacking, sorting, and labelling deliveries.
- Pallet wrapping & preparing items for despatch (Use of a pump truck required)
- Reporting and recording any shortage or damage to consignments
- Ensuring a high standard of good housekeeping, health & safety and security
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
- Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits
- Complete diary logs into inventory
- Follow with procedures, rules and regulations
- Investigate & action missing shipments with our various supply chain partners.
- Ensure logistics data (shipment details, delivery requirements, etc) are captured and supplied to the relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with materials handling processes and safety protocols is advantageous.
- Experience using inventory management systems is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge is beneficial for equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) consistently throughout the shift.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks performed.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
