We are currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Cook’s to join our friendly team at our 24-bed EMI Residential Care Home. As a Care Home Cook, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals for our residents, ensuring that individual dietary and nutritional needs are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and plan weekly menus that are nutritious, appealing, and cater to the diverse dietary needs of our residents.
- Prepare and cook balanced, wholesome meals from scratch, ensuring food quality and portion control.
- Adapt meals to individual preferences and specific nutritional requirements, including catering for allergies, intolerances, and special diets.
- Manage kitchen cleanliness and hygiene, following all food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Carry out regular stock checks, monitor stock levels, and ensure proper rotation of ingredients.
- Handle the ordering of food supplies, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and meet required standards.
- Work closely with the care team to ensure meals support the overall health and well-being of residents.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a care home or similar setting.
- A passion for cooking and delivering high-quality meals.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and dietary requirements.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with residents and staff effectively.
