The Governors of Glan Usk Primary School are seeking to appoint an innovative and inspirational Deputy Headteacher. This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant and forward-thinking school community. The appointed candidate will work alongside a highly motivated and creative Headteacher and senior leadership team, a supportive and enthusiastic staff team, eager learners, a committed Governing Body, and engaged parents and carers.

The Governing Body is committed to appointing a Deputy Headteacher who:
Demonstrates a passion and a high-level skill set for leading outstanding teaching and learning across the school,- Leads and promotes excellence, equity and high expectations of behaviour, deploying positive behaviour management strategies effectively and consistently,
- Ensures that the well-being of all children is central to all that they do and builds
relationships of mutual respect with the pupils, parents, staff, wider community and the Governing Body,
- Show excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills,
- Motivates, inspires and generates enthusiasm in a team environment and have a flexible and positive approach to challenge and change,
- Has a strong professional learning record and articulate aspirations for headship, being able to deputise for the Headteacher on a regular basis,
- Demonstrates a deep understanding of the Curriculum for Wales including in its progression and assessment,
- Understands how to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with additional
needs or those who are multilingual, have a particular talent or are vulnerable,
- Brings energy, enthusiasm, positivity and drive to fulfil the role to the best of their ability at all times,
- Is an inspirational leader who has a clear vision for the partnership,
- Has experience of ALN processes and procedures.
