The Role:
We are looking to recruit a Criminal Litigation Executive to join our busy and respected Criminal Department.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in criminal law who is organised, proactive and looking to develop their career within a supportive and progressive firm.
Working closely with our Criminal Defence Solicitors, you will assist with the preparation and progression of criminal matters, including Crown Court files, evidence gathering, case preparation and liaison with clients and external agencies.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist Criminal Defence Solicitors with the preparation and progression of Magistrates Court and Crown Court files

Obtain, review and organise evidence and case documentation

Prepare hearing bundles, trial packs, instructions to Counsel and other court documents

Attend police stations to assist with client representation and case preparation

Liaise with clients, Counsel, CPS, Police, Courts, Probation, experts and Local Authorities / Council departments

Maintain accurate records using the firms case management system

Support the team in meeting court deadlines and progressing matters efficiently

Deliver excellent client care and communication

Work collaboratively as part of the wider Criminal Department
You will have:

Previous experience working within criminal law, litigation or a closely related legal environment

Good understanding of criminal court procedures and case preparation

Strong organisational and case management skills

Excellent communication and client service skills
-
A proactive, professional and confidential approach
-
The ability to work well within a team and manage competing priorities
-
Police Station Representative Accreditation is preferred but not essential
