Location: Oakham factory
Purpose of the role
To support the Injection moulding production teams from a QE perspective. Through the use of Lean principles and techniques the Quality Engineer will develop the internal processes and support in product development to reduce defects and remove waste from the business.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Interpret and eliminate internal quality defects.
- Raise and maintain internal non-conformances + trending
- Interpret specification data to measure components for release to production from technical or tool room. => CMM program creation / amendment
- Maintain the Concessions Database.
- Maintain test stock databases and Tool Room requests database
· Manage, Mentor and support the Quality Co-ordinators.
· Being part of the HARA Team and HARA Team Leader (when qualified).
· Managed Internal Audit Schedule and Carry out internal audits as schedules (when qualified).
· Deputy for the AMS meeting
- To investigate customer complaints and gather specific data to establish route cause and implement corrective actions as directed by the QM.
- Preparing, reviewing and evaluating inspection & test plans
- Provide accurate CMM, teledictor, product performance data to the technical and production teams during troubleshooting sessions.
- Deputise for the QM in their absence
- To gather weekly and monthly KPI data
- To generate month end report
- Take part in 3rd party audits
- Manage pest control contractor
- Maintain the Calibration database
Experience
- HNC / Degree educated (preferred). With a good practical knowledge of how Injection moulding scientific process works.
- Previous injection moulding experience.
- Experience of leading and participating in continuous improvement initiatives
- Hands on pragmatic style and ability to influence at all levels
- Skilled communicator and motivator
- Lean and Six Sigma back ground an advantage
- Comfortable with speaking up within a pier group when required.
- Good attention to details

Full clean driving license required
Willingness to travel 10% of time
