Warehouse Operative - Day Shifts
This is a temporary role until around mid December, with the possibility to become permanent for the right candidates. Starting wage is NMW, which will be reviewed after 3 months.
About us
Cheaper Online Ltd, an online retailer based in Blackpool are recruiting for warehouse team members to support us through our busy Christmas sales period.
The successful person will be working as part of our existing team of friendly warehouse operatives, reporting to their warehouse team leader. The team is responsible for ensuring customer orders are picked and packed on time and to a good standard, keeping the flow of goods moving through the warehouse and keeping the warehouse clean and tidy.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Picking orders from location
- Packing of products to a high standard
- Using hand held scanners
- Sorting, locating to shelf and booking in new deliveries of stock
- Palletizing packed orders and moving with pump truck
- Manual unloading of shipping containers and truck load deliveries
- Sorting packed orders by courier
- General warehouse tidying, bin emptying and compacting cardboard/plastic
- Restocking of packaging materials to packing benches
- Following all health and safety procedures, rules and regulations
- Communicating and working effectively as part of a team
- Listening to and following orders from managers
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Be motivated and driven and have a desire to learn new skills
- Good communication skills and ability to listen and follow instruction
- Physically fit and able to maintain stamina throughout the shift
- Common sense and logical thinking to identify issues and seek further guidance if necessary
- Good attention to detail
- Be able to use a computer to check order details using our software
- Friendly and approachable and work well within a team or on individual tasks
- Previous warehouse experience would be beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided

Core Hours/Days Available
Mon-Fri, 08:00-16:00
Peak Weekend Work
Throughout the peak months, for 6 weekends in November & December we also work weekends, and have later shifts and you will be required to work one weekend day (Sat or Sun) on each of those 6 weeks. You can have a week day off if you don't want to work more than 5 days a week, but if you do over 40 hours in a week Mon-Sun, you will be paid at time and a half for any hours over 40.
