A opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and suitably skilled Occupational Therap y technician to join our medicine team based at the University Hospital of Wales . You will support the occupational therapy team managing the duty desk and gain clinical experience working on the wards in medicine.
This is an exciting period as we are currently operationalising our Occupational Therapy strategy across medicine providing opportunity to engage in service development and ensuring we provid e the best value to our service users.
We wish to appoint an ambitious and motivated individual with excellent communication skills, effective team working and a passion for development and service improvement.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
You will work with patients with a range of complex needs on the medical wards in University Hospital of Wales (UHW). On the duty desk you will answer queries and signpost callers to support the occupational therapy team.
You will have opportunity to consolidate clinical skills, build experience and invest in quality improvement developments.
You will be supported with induction/training and supervision. Development will be supported underpinned by the RCOT Pillars of Practice and Cardiff and Vale Occupational Therapy Strategy. You will deliver occupationally focused practice, delivering outcomes that matter to people using evidence based practice and research.
A seven-day service is delivered in some services.
