Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Takeaway Assistant to join our busy food service team. The successful candidate will support daily operations by preparing and serving food, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. Responsibilities
- Assist in meal preparation and food assembly according to company standards
- Serve customers efficiently at the takeaway counter, ensuring a friendly and professional experience
- Handle food packaging and ensure orders are prepared accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, serving areas and customer-facing spaces
- Carry out pot wash duties and ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and ready for use
- Follow all food safety regulations and hygiene standards diligently
- Support the team during busy periods, including restocking supplies and managing orders
- Ensure accurate order processing and timely preparation of takeaway orders
- Assist with general cleaning duties to uphold health and safety standards
Requirements
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided
- Knowledge of food preparation, meal assembly, and food safety practices is beneficial
- Experience in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy
- Basic kitchen experience or culinary knowledge is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and take part in food safety and training programmes
- Flexible and reliable, with a positive attitude
- Driving licence is desirable but not essential
Pay: £8.00-£12.71 per hour
