Bath Demolition is a professional demolition contractor carrying out demolition, soft strip, dismantling, site clearance and enabling works across the South West. We're a growing team with a strong focus on delivering projects safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
The Role
Bath Demolition is looking for a number of Demolition Labourers to join our growing team. The successful candidates will carry out hands-on demolition works on site, helping to deliver projects safely, efficiently and in line with company procedures, client requirements and current health and safety legislation.
This is a practical, hands-on role working as part of a site team under the direction of the site supervisor. It's well suited to someone who is hard-working, reliable, a good communicator, and keen to develop their skills and progress in the demolition industry.
Alongside your on-site work, you'll be enrolled on the nationally recognised NFDC (National Federation of Demolition Contractors) Demolition Apprenticeship, delivered through the NDTG (National Demolition Training Group) and our training partners. You'll gain the industry cards, tickets and qualifications you need to build a genuine, progressive career on the tools. We're looking for people with:
- A positive, reliable and hard-working attitude
- A genuine interest in building a career in demolition and construction
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weathers and carry out physical work
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely as part of a team
- Good timekeeping and commitment to attending all training
- Willingness to travel and stay away from home for residential training blocks when required
Previous demolition experience is welcome but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out demolition, soft strip and dismantling works as part of a site team
- Site clearance, segregation and handling of materials
- Safe use of hand and demolition tools
- Assisting skilled operatives, plant operators and the site supervisor with daily site activities
- Keeping work areas clean, safe and organised
- Working in line with method statements, risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Following company procedures, client requirements and health and safety legislation at all times
- Attending training blocks and completing apprenticeship training courses
The Training Programme
Over the course of the programme you'll work towards a full set of industry-recognised qualifications and cards, including:
- CCDO Demolition Labourer card (and progression toward CCDO Demolition Operative)
- Health & Safety and HSE training
- Asbestos Awareness and Non-Licensed Asbestos Removal
- Manual Handling and Safe Use of Hand/Demolition Tools
- Abrasive Wheels / Safe Use of Petrol-Driven Cut-Off Saws
- COSHH Awareness, Spillage and Pollution Prevention
- Plant & Machinery Marshal and Site Access Traffic Marshal
- Working in Confined Spaces
- IPAF Scissor Lift and Boom
- Oxy-Fuel Cutting, Cable Avoidance and Temporary Works Awareness
- Remote Controlled Demolition Plant
- Emergency First Aid at Work
