Mitie is looking for enthusiastic and reliable Hygiene Operatives to join our team at the iconic McVitie's factory in Manchester.
This is a key role supporting food production by ensuring manufacturing equipment, production lines and processing areas are cleaned to the highest standards of hygiene, safety and food quality. Working as part of a dedicated hygiene team, you will help maintain a safe, compliant and production-ready environment within a fast-paced food manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out cleaning of production lines, machinery and manufacturing areas.
Complete deep cleaning and scheduled hygiene tasks in line with site standards.
Safely use cleaning chemicals, equipment and PPE.
Follow food safety, hygiene and contamination control procedures.
Report damaged equipment, hygiene concerns and safety hazards.
Complete hygiene records and support audit readiness activities.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in hygiene, industrial cleaning, manufacturing or food production is desirable but not essential.
Strong attention to detail and pride in your work.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A positive, reliable and flexible approach to work.
Commitment to maintaining high standards of health, safety and food hygiene.
