Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Transport Manager to oversee and optimize our transportation operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing logistics, supervising staff, and ensuring the efficient movement of goods across various channels. Duties
- Act as the named CPC holder on our Operator’s License. Ensure full compliance with DVSA regulations, tachograph rules, and driver working time directives.
- Oversee the scheduling of regular vehicle maintenance, MOTs, and inspections to ensure 100% roadworthiness.
- Optimize daily delivery/transport routes to maximize fuel efficiency, meet customer deadlines, and reduce operational costs.
- Maintain accurate records, conduct risk assessments, and foster a strong safety culture among drivers.
- Investigate incidents and support corrective actions
- Liaise with suppliers, workshops, and operational teams
Requirements
- Valid Transport Manager CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) – Mandatory.
- Proven experience in a Transport Manager or similar logistics management role.
- Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation, driver hours, tachograph regulations, and Operator License compliance.
- Strong knowledge of transport compliance and fleet management
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and transport management systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience managing HGV drivers and vehicles
Pay: From £40,000.00 per year
