Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations. Responsibilities
- Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout shifts.
- Support the organisation of stock and ingredients, ensuring proper storage and rotation.
- Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Support the kitchen team during busy periods by providing general assistance as required.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards at all times.
Skills
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques is desirable.
- Familiarity with kitchen hygiene standards and safety procedures.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
