Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Healthcare Assistant (Nights) to join our care home team. This vital role involves supervising and supporting care staff during night shifts, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our residents. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a compassionate approach to senior care. Experience in supervising within a care environment, along with proficiency in care planning and IT systems, is essential. A valid driving licence is desirable to support transport needs. Duties
- Supervise and support care staff during night shifts, ensuring the delivery of personalised care plans
- Oversee the safety and wellbeing of residents, responding promptly to their needs and emergencies
- Assist with the administration of medication in accordance with prescribed care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation using IT systems, including updating care records and incident reports
- Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in senior care and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and team members to promote a positive environment
- Support staff development through supervision, mentoring, and providing guidance on best practices
- Assist with organising activities or events that enhance residents’ quality of life during night hours
Qualifications
- Previous experience in senior care and working with a varied client basis within a care home setting is essential
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare environment is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Proficiency in using IT systems for documentation and care planning purposes
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for transport-related duties or errands
- Knowledge of care plans, health & safety regulations, and safeguarding procedures
- Compassionate nature with a genuine commitment to providing excellent senior care
- Should pocess nvq level 2 and be willing to work towards level 3
- Confident in medication management

Pay: From £13.15 per hour
