We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Night Care Assistant to join our healthcare team, providing vital support to residents in assisted living, nursing homes, and community care settings. As a Night Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering personalized care that promotes independence, dignity, and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoists lifts when necessary
- Monitor residents’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior, promptly reporting concerns to nursing staff
- Supporting residents with nutritious meals and assist with meal service while respecting dietary restrictions and preferences
- Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas through routine cleaning tasks to ensure a safe environment
- Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Follow infection control procedures diligently during patient care activities and adhere to all safety protocols including CPR and first aid when needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs accurately
- Experience in documentation of care
- Experience with assisting residents with ADLs, medication administration, and care planning is desirable
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks such as transferring residents with equipment like Hoists
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities or chronic health conditions
