West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service is seeking a highly organised Water & Access Administration Support Officer to provide efficient day-to-day administrative support for planning consultations.

Salary: £27,254 to £28,598 per annum
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract until March 2027. Final start and end dates will be agreed with the successful candidate.
Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week)
Location: Protection Office, Bognor Regis Fire Station, West Meads Drive, Bognor Regis, PO21 5TB

About the Job
The successful candidate will coordinate, review, and respond to consultation requests relating to water provision for firefighting and fire service access requirements for roadways, helping to ensure new developments meet essential fire safety standards.
No two days are the same in our Water & Access Team. This varied and rewarding role offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders while supporting critical services that help keep our communities safe.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering a flexible information and reporting service, including the collection, collation, analysis, and presentation of Fire & Rescue Service access related data.
- Providing clear and specialist advice and guidance to water authorities, developers, and other relevant organisations and individuals.
- Analysing and interpreting plans, assessing proposed infrastructure, and drawing informed conclusions on its suitability.
- Working closely with managers to identify, develop, document, and implement service improvements.
- Ensuring the accuracy, confidentiality, security, integrity, and effective management of information and records.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- BTEC Higher, or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Experience of management of data and production of management reports.
- Experience of using information systems and tools.
- Experience of analysing and interpreting data and producing conclusions and recommendations.
- Sound and accurate IT skills using a range of systems and software packages particularly in the manipulation of data and producing reports.
- Excellent analytical and report writing skills with the ability to present management information in a logical and understandable format.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills demonstrated by the ability to provide clear and concise specialist advice, training and guidance to a range of clients.
- The ability to prioritise work, co-ordinate a variety of tasks in a clear and logical way to meet expectations and deadlines.
- Be able to use your own initiative to resolve problems.
