Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Public Area Attendant to maintain the cleanliness and presentation of our hotel's communal spaces. The ideal candidate will ensure that all public areas are welcoming, hygienic, and well-maintained, contributing to an exceptional guest experience. Previous experience in hotel hospitality or janitorial services is preferred, but full training will be provided for the right candidate. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise all public areas including lobbies, corridors, restrooms, and lounge areas to high standards of hygiene and presentation
- Ensure all surfaces are dust-free, floors are swept and mopped regularly, and waste is disposed of appropriately
- Restock supplies such as toiletries, towels, and cleaning materials as needed to ensure guest comfort
- Report any maintenance issues or damages in public spaces to management promptly
- Maintain a professional appearance and behaviour at all times, representing the hotel positively
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hotel housekeeping, hospitality, or janitorial services is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness and organisation
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to established standards
- Good communication skills and a friendly demeanour suitable for guest interactions
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning duties which may involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as required
