IVT Injection Nurse, Ophthalmology
(Part Time – 1 or 2 days per week)

About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a highly skilled IVT Injection Nurse to join a specialist service delivered in partnership with NHS Ophthalmology teams.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of ophthalmology, supporting the delivery of a dedicated IVT injection service for patients. The role involves working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across NHS Trusts/Health Boards to deliver a safe, effective, and patient-centred service.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver intravitreal (IVT) injections safely in line with the Summary of Product Characteristics (SmPC) and local Trust protocols
- Support the effective running of injection clinics, ensuring high clinical standards and compliance at all times
- Act as a key clinical point of contact, building confidence in administration within the clinical team
- Work collaboratively with ophthalmologists, nurses, technicians, and wider MDT colleagues
- Maintain accurate patient records and complete all administrative tasks in a timely manner
- Ensure full compliance with clinical governance frameworks, including NMC Code, Caldicott Principles, and data protection regulations
- Report adverse events promptly in line with agreed procedures
- Maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge and complete ongoing professional development and mandatory training
About You
We’re looking for a confident, proactive, and patient-focused nurse who thrives in a collaborative environment.
Essential Requirements:
- Registered Nurse (NMC) at Band 6/7 level (or equivalent) with ophthalmology experience
- Proven competence in delivering IVT injections
- Extensive ophthalmic clinical experience within the UK NHS
- Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites
- Enhanced DBS and right to work in the UK
