Deputy Manager – Children's Residential Home

We are recruiting an experienced Deputy Manager to join a specialist children's residential home in Wokingham, supporting young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), including those with Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) and Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE) backgrounds.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Support Worker or Deputy Manager looking to take the next step in their career and play a key role in the leadership and development of the home.
The Role
Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will support the day-to-day management of the home and help ensure young people receive consistently high-quality care, support and safeguarding.
You will:
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home.
- Lead and motivate the residential care team.
- Take responsibility for the home in the Registered Manager's absence.
- Support staff supervision, development and performance management.
- Ensure care plans, risk assessments and records are accurate and up to date.
- Promote positive outcomes and independence for young people.
- Support safeguarding, incident management and professional referrals.
- Help maintain strong relationships with families, social workers and other professionals.
- Assist with recruitment, induction, training and staff development.
- Support the home in maintaining strong Ofsted and regulatory standards.
- Help create a stable, consistent and positive environment for young people.
About You
We are looking for a confident and experienced children's residential professional who is ready to take on greater responsibility.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Senior or Team Leader within children's residential care.
- Experience working with EBD, challenging behaviour and complex young people.
- Experience supporting young people affected by CSE and/or CCE.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and children's residential regulations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- The ability to lead by example and support a team effectively.
- A calm, resilient and solution-focused approach.
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people.
- A relevant Level 3/4 qualification in Children's Residential Care, or willingness to work towards the required qualification.
