This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team of seven supporting a 52-year-old male with a great sense of humour and positive attitude who has an acquired brain injury. He has a very short, short-term memory and limited cognitive functions. He is very intelligent and participates in many activities including arts and craft, sailing, flying. hiking, tennis, swimming, tennis, table tennis, snooker, pool and golf. The client lives in his own home and great fun to be with, but needs support 24/7 because of his lack of memory and awareness of danger.
The job will entail taking him to some of those activities on a one-to-one basis and you will be able to participate with him on some of them if you wish. You will be required to undertake some domestic duties which may include cooking the client's meals but there is no personal care.
Whilst some experience is preferred it is not essential as training will be given but an interest in sporting activities would be an advantage. A clean UK driving licence is required, and an enhanced DBS check will be undertaken. You must be a UK resident or have the right to work in the UK, as we are not registered to offer employment to anyone needing Sponsorship.
There are a number of shifts available on both full time and part-time contracts. (8.00 to 15.15, 15.00 to 22.00 and 21.45 to 08.15. Additional benefits are payable and there are opportunities for additional voluntary hours. On the night shift you will be permitted to rest on a bed which is provided in a separate bedroom once the client has gone to bed but subject to you being available on the rare occasions you may be needed.
