OH Medical is recruiting an Occupational Health Technician on behalf of a leading UK Occupational Health provider for a full-time, permanent position in Plymouth, Devon.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Occupational Health Technician, Hospital Healthcare Assistant, Ambulance EMT, Military Medic, Offshore Medic or Fitness Professional looking to develop their career within Occupational Health.
You will work onsite as part of an established multidisciplinary Occupational Health team, supporting the delivery of health surveillance, employee health screening and workplace wellbeing services.
Occupational Health Technician Duties
As the Occupational Health Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out health surveillance and health screening assessments
- Undertaking audiometry and spirometry/lung function testing
- Completing baseline health measurements including blood pressure, height and weight
- Undertaking urinalysis
- Carrying out drug and alcohol testing
- Following appropriate chain of custody procedures for drug and alcohol testing
- Accurately recording medical and Occupational Health information
- Escalating results and queries to appropriate clinical staff
- Ensuring Occupational Health equipment is clean, serviceable and fit for purpose
- Supporting equipment calibration and monitoring requirements
- Working within established Occupational Health protocols and competencies
- Supporting workplace health promotion and wellbeing activities
- Providing additional administrative and non-clinical support when required
What We're Looking For
There is no single professional qualification required for this Occupational Health Technician position.
Suitable backgrounds may include:
- Occupational Health Technician
- Hospital Healthcare Assistant
- Ambulance EMT
- Emergency Medical Technician
- Military Medic
- Offshore Medic
- Fitness Instructor or Fitness Professional
- Other healthcare or health screening backgrounds
- Sport Science Graduate
Previous experience within Occupational Health, health surveillance, audiometry, spirometry or drug and alcohol testing would be advantageous.
You should be confident, self-motivated and proactive, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to organise and prioritise your workload.
Salary and Working Hours
Salary: Up to £26,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00.
This is a full-time, onsite Occupational Health Technician job in Plymouth.
