Class 1 (C+E) HGV Driver – Full Time
Tom Moorhouse & Son Ltd is a family-run haulage business based in Honley, Holmfirth, and we are proud to be part of the EFS Global Ltd group.
We are looking for a reliable and professional Class 1 (C+E) HGV Tramper to join our experienced team on a permanent, full-time basis, undertaking a mixture of local and nationwide general haulage work.
The Role
As part of our team, you will be responsible for:
- Driving nationwide across the UK
- Local and long-distance general haulage
- Securing loads safely to prevent damage during transit
- Operating vehicles safely and efficiently while complying with all road traffic legislation and company procedures
- Completing digital paperwork and using driver apps where required
- Keeping your vehicle clean, roadworthy and reporting defects via our Vehocheck app
- Delivering excellent customer service at collection and delivery points
Working Pattern
- Permanent, full-time position
- Monday to Friday with varied start and finish times
- Alternate weekends are part of the job as is Bank Holiday working on a rotational basis
Our Fleet
Our modern fleet consists of DAF XG and MAN tractor units, all fitted with fridges and microwaves. Following successful completion of your induction and training, you'll be allocated your own vehicle.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Minimum 1 year's Class 1 (C+E) driving experience
- Valid UK Driving Licence with Class C+E entitlement
- Valid UK Driver Qualification Card (CPC)
- Valid UK Digital Tachograph Card
You'll also have:
- Confidence in securing loads and working at a variety of delivery sites
- A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to work under pressure
- A clean, professional appearance with a customer-first approach
- Good communication skills and fluent spoken English
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- A flexible approach to working hours and overnight stays
- A strong commitment to health and safety
- The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- A willingness to take responsibility for vehicle cleanliness and cargo security
- Good knowledge of the UK road network (desirable but not essential)
- Confidence using digital paperwork and mobile applications
