This post is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic setting across the borough of Camden and join a highly supportive and cohesive therapy team. The Service provides client-centred assessment/rehabilitation/disability management at St Pancras Hospital and throughout Camden community, including in clients’ own homes, in therapy gym facilities or in wider community settings.
You will work in the following pathways:
- Stroke Early Supported Discharge
- Long-term conditions
- NeuroActive: exercise-based therapy to prepare for transition to a local gym.
The successful candidate will provide evidence-based, client goal focused rehabilitation appropriate to the various specialist areas. We are looking for a highly motivated team worker with excellent communication skills.
This post will allow the successful applicant to continue to improve knowledge and clinical skills in a range of settings. The candidate will work alongside experienced multidisciplinary teams and be well supported by senior staff both informally and formally through supervision. There is a strong focus on personal and service development and you will take an active role in these.

We are recruiting for a generic therapy assistant within the Camden Neurological and Stroke Service, under the guidance and supervision of a qualified therapist. You may work with physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech and language therapists.
To be actively involved with carrying out multi- disciplinary rehabilitation, and enabling care programmes, as well as being assigned other duties such as clerical and administrative and implementing infection control tasks in the gym.
To assist in the running and to support the provision of activity programmes at the Peckwater Centre and in a range of community exercise facilities. This may include facilitating group sessions, and supporting clients on a 1:1 basis in a range of settings under the guidance of a qualified therapist.
The Camden Neurological and Stroke Service is currently based at St Pancras Hospital. The team is interdisciplinary and comprises of Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Rehabilitation Assistants and Speech and Language Therapists.
The remit of the team is to provide rehabilitation for adults with neurological impairment in the community. The team promotes independence and community integration. Work with clients can vary from short episodes of care to longer-term support or rehabilitation, but always follows a goal orientated approach. The team is committed to a clinical governance programme and team members are encouraged to use an evidence based practice model and to participate in research and audit programmes.
