A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapy Support Worker to join our small specialist team based in Murray Royal Hospital, Perth. Applicants should have relevant experience of working within physical rehabilitation services, possess excellent communication and decision making skills and have a positive approach to promoting both physical and mental health and wellbeing.
We provide specialist physiotherapy to older adults (65+) with both functional or organic diseases such as dementia, as well as younger adults (18 65) who are experiencing mild to moderate mental illness including anxiety and depression, chronic pain and fatigue, PTSD and functional neurological disorders, or more severe and enduring mental illness including psychotic disorders, complex trauma and personality disorders.
The post covers the whole of the Perth & Kinross geographical area, working predominantly in Community settings, as well as Inpatient ward settings and a small number of Outpatients.
We adopt a person-centred approach to promote rehabilitation and recovery, enabling individuals to achieve the best possible outcomes through collaboration with the individual, multidisciplinary team members and family/carer involvement.
We have close links with our colleagues in the wider P&K Physiotherapy Service and provide excellent opportunities for formal and informal supervision, actively support individual development through regular appraisal and CPD, and promote innovative practice and service development. We also have strong links with Universities providing student placements primarily from Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Days/Hours of work: 18 (inclusive of reduced working week) covering Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Please note that the salary scale for this post is pro rata for part time hours.
Base: Murray Royal Hospital, with travel across the Perth & Kinross area.
