Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will be responsible for creating high-quality beverages and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. Your role will involve not only preparing drinks but also ensuring that our coffee shop maintains a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the shop, including equipment
- Assist customers with their orders, providing recommendations and answering any questions about menu items.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations during food preparation and service.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, utilising basic maths skills for change calculations.
- Manage time effectively to ensure prompt service during busy periods.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations within the café.
Qualifications
- Barista experience is essential, preferrably in an independent coffee shop setting
- Previous experience in food preparation or customer service is preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is highly desirable.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- A friendly and approachable demeanour with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
