MARKING OUT OPERATIVE – SHOP FLOOR

We are looking for a skilled, accurate and reliable Marking Out Operative to join our busy manufacturing shop floor.
This role is suited to someone who takes pride in their work, works accurately to the millimetre and can maintain a high standard of productivity and organisation.
THE ROLE
Your main responsibility will be accurately measuring and marking out components ready for production.
Accuracy is essential – measurements must be correct to the millimetre.
You will be responsible for:
- Measuring and marking components accurately using a tape measure
- Reading and working from measurements and production drawings
- Marking out materials ready for drilling and assembly
- Using a pillar drill safely and accurately
- Following all company SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
- Working consistently to the required KPIs and production targets
- Checking your own work before components move to the next stage
- Maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality
- Working efficiently to keep up with production requirements
- Keeping your workstation clean, tidy and organised at all times
- Returning all tools to their correct designated locations after use
- Looking after company equipment and reporting any issues
- Working safely and responsibly at all times
- Working as part of a team on a busy manufacturing shop floor
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The successful candidate must have:
- Excellent measuring skills and attention to detail
- The ability to measure accurately to the millimetre
- Previous experience using a pillar drill
- Good practical and manual skills
- The ability to read measurements accurately
- Experience working in a manufacturing, joinery, construction or similar environment
- The ability to consistently meet KPIs and production targets
- The ability and willingness to follow company SOPs
- Excellent organisational skills
- A strong attitude towards cleanliness and keeping their workstation tidy
- A reliable and hardworking attitude
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
THE PERSON

You must be comfortable working in a target-driven manufacturing environment and understand that accuracy, productivity and organisation are all equally important.

WHAT WE OFFER

- Monday–Thursday
- 7:00am–5:00pm
- Weekly pay
