Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Labourer to join our dynamic team. This role involves assisting with various building projects, ensuring safety standards are maintained, and supporting skilled tradespeople in completing construction tasks efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in construction activities and possess a versatile skill set relevant to the trade. This position offers valuable hands-on experience across multiple facets of construction work, contributing to the successful completion of diverse projects.
Duties
- Assist with general site preparation, including clearing and organising work areas
- Support tradespeople with tasks such as carpentry and joinery
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively under supervision
- Handle materials and equipment, ensuring proper storage and transportation around the site
- Assist in fabricating and installing various components according to schematics and project specifications
- Support construction painting activities as required
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe working environment
- Contribute to site cleanliness and organisation throughout the project duration
Requirements
- Prior experience or familiarity with construction trades such as roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical work, plastering, masonry, or carpentry is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely
- Basic understanding of schematics and construction drawings is preferred
- Physically fit with the ability to perform manual labour for extended periods
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different roles within the construction environment
- Good communication skills and team-oriented attitude
- Valid CSCS card
