Duties
- Measure clients accurately to determine necessary alterations and fittings
- Modify garments by sewing, hemming, taking in or letting out fabric, and repairing tears or damages
- Ensure all alterations meet customer specifications while maintaining garment integrity
- Use sewing machines, hand stitching tools, and pressing equipment efficiently and safely
- Communicate clearly with customers about their needs, options, and timelines
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace with well-maintained tools and materials
- Complete alteration orders promptly to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business
Requirements
- Proven experience in tailoring, garment fitting, or clothing alterations
- Strong knowledge of sewing techniques, fabrics, and garment construction
- Ability to work with various materials including delicate fabrics and heavy textiles
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure precise alterations and high-quality finishes
- Good communication skills to understand customer requests clearly
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive sewing tasks comfortably
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if needed
