Woods Foodservice is a successful family owned fine food distributor supplying premium ambient, chilled, frozen and fresh products to the hospitality industry across London and the South East. We are looking for a professional and reliable 7.5 Tonne Delivery Driver to join our transport team working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with alternate Saturday working required, starting at 3am
As a 7.5 Tonne Delivery Driver, you will play a key role in ensuring our customers receive their deliveries safely, accurately and on time. You will be the face of Woods Foodservice, providing excellent customer service while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism and vehicle care.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 7.5 tonne delivery vehicle in accordance with road traffic legislation, Driver CPC requirements and company policies.
- Complete multi-drop deliveries of ambient, chilled, frozen and fresh food products to customers across London and the surrounding areas.
- Load, unload and deliver goods safely, using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment where required.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and promptly report any defects or maintenance issues.
- Ensure all deliveries are accurate, obtaining proof of delivery and completing all required documentation or electronic records.
- Provide a professional and courteous service, building positive relationships with customers and representing Woods Foodservice to the highest standard.
- Plan and manage delivery routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules while complying with drivers' hours and working time requirements where applicable.
- Maintain the cleanliness, security and roadworthiness of the assigned vehicle.
- Follow all company food safety, health and safety, and hygiene procedures to ensure products are transported and delivered in excellent condition.
- Work collaboratively with the Transport, Warehouse and Customer Service teams to resolve any delivery issues promptly.
To be successful you will need:
- Valid UK Category C1 (7.5 Tonne) driving licence.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous experience in a multi-drop delivery driving role.
- Good knowledge of road safety legislation and safe driving practices.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently while managing delivery schedules.
- Good geographical knowledge of London and the surrounding areas.
- Prepared to undergo a DVLA licence check
