Job Overview:
The Maintenance Technician role is a vital frontline, hands-on position that is crucial to the Company’s success by maintaining the continuous running of equipment and machinery throughout the site ensuring that there is minimum disruption to core activities, reducing the risk of breakdowns and unplanned downtime and develop plans to improve the overall reliability and safety of the site. As part of our small, close-knit Maintenance Team the Maintenance Technician will have the opportunity to learn from experienced Maintenance Engineers and continuously develop with the Company in an environment that will give fantastic exposure to a wide variety of engineering tasks and responsibilities.
Work Hours: 40 hours per week – rotating shift pattern: Days/Nights/Afternoons
Key responsibilities:
- Assist and shadow the Maintenance Team members to help with all maintenance-related tasks and responsibilities.
- Diagnose breakdown problems and a resolve them in a timely manner ensuring machine capacity is maximised.
- Investigate and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on plant and machinery
- Perform mechanical and electrical tasks, both independent and under supervision of other team members or contractors.
- Record and assist with scheduling all maintenance to include planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
- Help support the commissioning and introduction of new machinery and products
- Work to planned preventative maintenance schedule
- Participate in corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with maintenance-related projects
- Keep up-to-date and accurate records of all maintenance activities and tasks.
- Ensure that all IT systems relevant to maintenance are up-to-date and accurate
- Inventory management for parts, tools, and other maintenance items.
- Ensure that building/facilities maintenance is carried out.
- Work with sub-contractors to improve working knowledge of plant and equipment.
- Work closely with other departments, particularly Production.
What you will need:
- A mechanical engineering qualification, preferably at degree level or above.
- Ideally, an electrical engineering qualification.
- Some experience of working within a manufacturing environment within a paid job role, apprenticeship, or other learning capacity (e.g. internship).
- Ideally, some knowledge and experience of the coating, printing, plastics, packaging, or other relevant sector.
- Ability to work shifts - days, nights, afternoons
Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
