Ginkgo Gardens is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Hanging Basket & Bedding Plant Maintenance Operative to join our horticultural team working across Inner London.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in high standards, and has experience in horticulture, grounds maintenance, gardening, or landscape maintenance.
The Role
You will be responsible for the installation and ongoing maintenance of approximately 500 hanging baskets and seasonal bedding displays located across a variety of prestigious residential and commercial developments throughout London.
Initially, you will collect plant stock and materials from our nursery in Chobham, Surrey, before delivering and installing displays at multiple locations.
Following installation, you will undertake regular maintenance visits to ensure all displays remain healthy, attractive and thriving throughout the season.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect hanging basket and bedding stock from our nursery in Chobham.
- Install hanging baskets, planters and seasonal displays at sites across London.
- Water, feed and maintain all hanging baskets and bedding displays.
- Replace failed plants and carry out seasonal improvements where required.
- Undertake regular quality audits of each location.
- Record maintenance visits using our mobile reporting system.
- Identify pest, disease, irrigation or plant health issues.
- Ensure all displays meet company standards at all times.
- Drive a company van between locations safely and professionally.
- Maintain equipment and materials provided.
Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
- Previous horticultural, gardening or grounds maintenance experience preferred.
- Good plant knowledge desirable.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Able to work independently and manage your own schedule.
- Good attention to detail and record keeping.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting and installing hanging baskets.
