The Lansbury Restaurant & Bar is looking for an experienced, passionate and highly professional Restaurant Manager to lead our front-of-house operation and help us continue developing our reputation for exceptional food, drinks and hospitality.
We are a quality-led restaurant with a strong focus on fine dining, premium ingredients, first-class restaurant service and genuine hospitality. We are looking for someone who understands that excellent service is about much more than delivering food to a table — it is about managing the entire guest experience.
Previous AA Rosette experience would be a huge advantage, particularly for someone who understands the standards, consistency and attention to detail expected within a Rosette-level restaurant.
The Role
As Restaurant Manager, you will take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of the restaurant and front-of-house team.
You will work closely with our Executive Chef and wider management team, ensuring the kitchen and restaurant operate as one team and that every guest receives a consistently high standard of food, drink and service.
You will be expected to lead from the floor, particularly during busy services, while maintaining excellent organisation behind the scenes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and maintain first-class restaurant service standards
- Lead, motivate, train and develop the front-of-house team
- Manage restaurant bookings and reservations
- Create and manage effective table plans, maximising capacity without compromising the guest experience
- Oversee the guest journey from initial booking through to departure
- Handle guest requests, feedback and complaints professionally
- Ensure excellent communication between front of house and kitchen
- Liaise closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen team regarding menus, dietary requirements, service and events
- Help develop a knowledgeable team with a strong understanding of the food and drinks being served
- Maintain high standards of restaurant presentation and cleanliness
- Oversee relevant compliance procedures, licensing responsibilities, health & safety and operational standards
- Assist with rotas, staffing levels and effective labour management
- Organise and coordinate private dining, special events and restaurant experiences
- Assist with the planning and execution of weddings, celebrations, tasting events and other functions
- Manage pre-service briefings and ensure the team is fully prepared for each service
- Monitor guest satisfaction and continually look for opportunities to improve the restaurant experience
- Support the continued development of The Lansbury as a destination restaurant
Key Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong previous Restaurant Management or senior FOH experience
- Experience within fine dining or high-quality independent restaurants
- Exceptional people skills and the ability to build genuine relationships with guests
- First-class restaurant service skills
- Excellent leadership and team-management ability
- Strong booking and reservation management skills
- Excellent understanding of table planning and restaurant capacity management
- Good knowledge of hospitality compliance and operational procedures
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Experience planning and delivering events
- Excellent communication with both front and back of house
- The ability to remain calm, professional and organised during busy services
- A genuine passion for food, wine, cocktails and hospitality
- High attention to detail and personal presentation
AA Rosette Experience
Previous experience working within an AA Rosette restaurant is a major advantage.
We are particularly interested in candidates who understand the level of consistency, product knowledge, attention to detail and service expected from restaurants operating at this standard.
The Person We're Looking For
This role would suit someone who is naturally hospitable, confident and professional but still personable.
We don't want service to feel stiff or overly formal. We want guests to receive knowledgeable, polished and attentive service while still feeling relaxed and genuinely welcomed.
You should be comfortable taking ownership of the restaurant floor, developing your team, working alongside the Executive Chef and helping drive The Lansbury forward.

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
