We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable Trainee Hard Landscaper to join our small, high-end landscaping business. You will be working directly alongside the owner/director on site every day. This isn't a role where you get lost in a massive crew or stuck doing only basic labour - you will be given hands-on experience across all aspects of hard landscaping.
What You Will Learn & Do
Working together as a two-person team, you will assist with:
· Groundworks & Prep: Site excavation, sub-base compaction, mixing concrete, and drainage installation.
· Paving & Masonry: Learning how to lay porcelain, natural stone, block paving, and brickwork.
· Structures: Assisting with timber decking, fencing, pergolas, and retaining walls.
· Machinery & Tools: Training on how to safely operate mini-diggers, dumpers, and power tools.
· Site Management: Keeping sites organized, clean, and safe.
Who We Are Looking For
You don't need years of hardscaping experience—we will teach you the trade. However, you must bring the following:
· Strong Work Ethic: Hard landscaping is physically demanding. You need to be happy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
· Reliability & Punctuality: Being on time every single day is non-negotiable.
· Willingness to Learn: A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to take direction well.
· Driver’s Licence: A full UK driving licence/ actively working towards one or have reliable transport to get to site/Shepshed.
· Basic Practical Ability: Any prior experience in construction, labouring, farming, or DIY is a strong plus, but not strictly required.
