Industrial Electrician – Manufacturing
Location: Timber Systems Division, Forres
Contract: Full time, permanent
About the role:
We are looking for a time served Industrial Electrician to join our Engineering/Maintenance team, reporting to the Site Engineering Manager. This is a hands-on role supporting a busy manufacturing site, where you will play a key part in maintaining and improving plant reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous production operations.
You’ll be involved in a mix of planned preventative maintenance, fault finding and breakdown response and continuous improvement of plant performance. You will have a flexible approach to work, understanding that you may undertake additional or alternative duties necessary to get the job done.
Normal hours of work are Monday – Friday, 06.30 to 16.15.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- · Provision of front line electrical engineering support to the manufacturing operations to ensure that the plant runs effectively and efficiently
- · Carrying out planned maintenance inspections; continually overhaul equipment, monitor plant conditions and report defects
- Follow Health, Safety, Quality and Engineering processes and procedures.
- Carry out repairs and overhauls in the workshop
- Working as part of the multi-disciplinary maintenance team you will be involved in preventative maintenance, fault finding and breakdowns as required
- Input into and follow the planned preventative maintenance schedule
- Fault finding/diagnosing process issues to resolve any breakdowns with minimal down time and impact on production
- Work safely at all times, complying with and using permit systems, method statements and dynamic risk assessments
- Assist in maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping and cleanliness
- Ability to improvise during breakdowns to maintain production
Skills and Experience:
- Time-served Electrician (or equivalent qualification)
- Proven industrial electrical experience in an a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong fault-finding ability on electrical and control systems
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence
- Safety Conscious
- Confident working on 3-phase systems, motors, drives, and PLC-controlled equipment
