Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle Curtain sider vehicles. As a Truck Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our operations run smoothly and that our customers receive their products on time.
Shifts/Pay
- Days - £16.50-£23.00 per hour
- Nights - £17.50-£24.50 per hour
Duties
- Operate flatbed lorries to transport goods to designated locations while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition and report any maintenance issues.
- Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring that all items are secured properly during transit.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transport.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal regulations related to commercial driving.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driving licence (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Ability to operate flatbed vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- Physical fitness is required for loading and unloading cargo as well as long periods of driving.
