About the Role
PE Systems Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical/Electronic Test Technician to join our team at our headquarters in Wigan. This role involves carrying out in-house inspections, testing, and fault finding to component level on DC standby battery back-up systems used within the power distribution and control industry.
You will play a critical role in ensuring that all equipment is manufactured to a high standard, fully tested, and ready for customer delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical and electronic testing using a range of test equipment
- Conduct fault finding down to component level
- Inspect units and drawings, recording faults accurately
- Ensure all products meet required specifications and are fully operational
- Maintain calibration of tools and test equipment
- Support battery-related work when required
- Maintain test equipment, including batteries and associated tools
- Ensure all goods are safe, compliant, and fit for despatch
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Always prioritise the safety of yourself and colleagues
- Fully understand hazards related to equipment and tasks
- Comply with all risk assessments
- Follow all safety control measures and use PPE where required
General Duties
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Ensure proper handling and organisation of manufacturing documentation
- Support other departments and collaborate to resolve issues
Essential Requirements
- BTEC HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering + 2 years’ experience OR BTEC National Certificate + 4 years’ experience
- Proven experience in electrical/electronic testing and instrumentation
- Ability to accurately record and interpret test results
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations
- Full clean UK driving licence
Desirable
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and general arrangement drawings
- Previous involvement in fault finding to component level in a production or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with DC standby battery systems or similar backup power equipment

Working Hours
Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pm and Friday 8.30am to 3pm
Pay: £31,616.00-£35,568.00 per year
