Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Vertical Form Filling Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining vertical form filling machines that produce high-quality packaging products. Your mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to follow safety protocols will ensure smooth production processes and optimal machine performance. Duties
- Set up and calibrate vertical form filling machines according to production specifications and safety standards
- Monitor machine operation throughout the production run, making adjustments as needed to ensure quality and efficiency
- Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and minor repairs using hand tools and mechanical knowledge
- Load raw materials into the machine, ensuring proper handling and storage in the warehouse or materials area
- Maintain accurate production logs, quality records, and shift reports for documentation purposes
- Conduct regular cleaning and preventative maintenance on equipment to prevent downtime
Experience
- Prior experience operating vertical form filling or similar packaging machinery is preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in fabrication, welding, milling, and tooling processes
- Proficiency with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for machine control and troubleshooting
- Basic understanding of CAD software such as SolidWorks or other design tools for equipment setup or modifications
- Hands-on experience with materials handling, warehouse operations, and assembly work
- Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively for machine maintenance or minor repairs
- Basic math skills for measuring parts, adjusting settings, and quality checks

Pay: £12.71-£20.14 per hour
