Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Nursery Evening Cleaner to join our team. This role involves maintaining a clean and hygienic environment within our nursery premises during evening hours. The successful candidate will ensure that all areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised, supporting a safe and welcoming space for children and staff. Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work is preferred, but full training will be provided for the right applicant. This position is paid and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a caring environment while developing your cleaning skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of nursery rooms, play areas, toilets, kitchens, and communal spaces during evening shifts
- Sanitize surfaces, toys, furniture, and equipment in accordance with health and safety standards
- Empty bins and dispose of waste responsibly
- Clean floors using appropriate methods such as mopping or vacuuming.
- Restock cleaning supplies and ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained in good condition
- Follow strict health and safety procedures to prevent accidents or contamination
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards to management promptly
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the shift to support a safe environment for children and staff
Experience
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, equipment, and procedures preferred
- Attention to detail and organisational skills are essential for maintaining hygiene standards
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during evening hours
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and punctuality
