Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Dispense prescribed medications accurately in accordance with prescriptions and pharmacy protocols
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and organising medication orders for patients
- Provide guidance and information to patients regarding medication usage and potential side effects
- Maintain precise records of dispensed medications and inventory levels
- Support medication administration processes within the pharmacy setting
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper storage of medicines
- Assist with patient care activities as directed by the pharmacist, including answering queries and providing support during consultations
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dispensary area to ensure a safe working environment
Requirements
- Prior experience as a pharmacy technician or dispenser is essential
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in handling prescriptions and records
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to regulatory standards
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in pharmacy assistance or related fields are desirable
