Director of Academic Studies, Maritime Studies Centre, BRNC Dartmouth
The Director of Academic Studies is the Senior Leadership post overseeing the University of Lincoln’s Maritime Studies Centre at Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth, Devon.
The Director of Studies is the leader and manager of the University of Lincoln’s academic staff at BRNC Dartmouth and oversees a team of up to twenty full time and associate lecturers. Working to the University’s overall Selborne Programme Director, the Director of Studies is also a key senior leader within the University, Team Fisher and the College.
The University is looking for an internal candidate to succeed the current Director and to continue her work of modernising the Centre and, in particular, the courses and programmes we deliver in support of the Royal Navy and Team Fisher.
The successful applicant will have strong collaborative and inter-personal skills and will be able to plan and deliver long-term change while overseeing and maintaining quality. They will also have a proven track record in academic delivery in one of the five core subjects, or a related subject, delivering lectures where required.
You will have a relevant PhD or equivalent in a related discipline. A Post-graduate qualification or equivalent in Higher Education or Teaching and Learning is highly desirable but if not possessed we will support you to achieve this through Higher Education Association (HEA) status or other programme.
