Nursery Cleaner – 10 Hours per Week (Afternoons)
Location: DN35 7UL, Cleethorpes
Hours: 3:45pm–5:45pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: 10 hours per week
We are looking for a reliable and dedicated Nursery Cleaner with a happy, cheerful nature to join our friendly and welcoming team.
You will be cleaning while a small number of staff and children are still onsite for tea, so you must be comfortable working in a busy childcare environment. There may be occasions when children speak to or interact with you, so we need someone who will respond warmly and appropriately while remaining focused on their work.
Nursery life can be unpredictable! Room routines may change at short notice, so you must be flexible, able to adapt and willing to clean different areas as they become available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out daily cleaning duties throughout the nursery, ensuring all areas are left safe, hygienic and presentable.
- Clean classrooms, bathrooms, hallways, staff areas and communal spaces.
- Work around the nursery’s daily routine, accessing rooms once they become available.
- Clean up after messy play and other activities—some days will be messier than others!
- Get stuck in, use your initiative and be willing to go above and beyond when required.
- Safely use and store cleaning chemicals, ensuring they are never left unattended or accessible to children.
- Follow all health and safety, safeguarding and site procedures.
- Communicate politely and professionally with nursery staff.
- Respond warmly and appropriately if children acknowledge or interact with you.
About You:
- Happy, cheerful and approachable, with a positive attitude.
- Comfortable working around young children and nursery staff.
- Hardworking, trustworthy and willing to get stuck in.
- Flexible and able to adapt when room schedules or routines change at short notice.
- Able to work independently, manage your time effectively and use your initiative.
- Committed to maintaining high cleaning standards.
- Professional, reliable and mindful of safeguarding and safety at all times.
- Willing to go above and beyond to support the nursery and maintain a clean, safe environment.
Requirements:
- You must be able to provide two satisfactory references.
- You must have a current DBS check issued within the last three months or be willing to undergo a new DBS check before starting.
Benefits:
- Friendly, happy and supportive working environment.
- Regular, set weekday hours.
- Ongoing support from our management team.
- The opportunity to make a genuine difference by helping to maintain a safe and clean environment for children and staff.
If you are dependable, enthusiastic and take pride in your work, we would love to hear from you.
