Job Description:
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and hardworking Store Assistant/Cashier to join our family-run retail team.
This is a paid part-time position of approximately 20 hours per week, normally working 3 - 4 days per week. The role is initially part-time, with the potential for more hours or full-time work in the future for the right person.
Current Availability Required
For the time being, we specifically need staff availability on:
- Monday (12:00 - 17:00)
- Friday (12:00 - 18:00)
- Saturday (15:00 - 20:00)
- Sunday (09:30 - 13:30)
These are the immediate days that need to be covered.
Please note: Working days and shift times are variable from week to week. Staff will receive their rota 1 week in advance, so you should be comfortable working different days and shifts rather than having the same fixed days every week.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service
- Assist customers with their purchases and answer product queries
- Operate the cash register accurately
- Handle cash, card payments and refunds
- Maintain accurate transaction records
- Provide product information and promote products where appropriate
- Keep the store clean, tidy and well organised
- Stock shelves and replenish products when required
- Ensure products are correctly priced and labelled
- Assist with inventory checks and general store duties
- Help with delivery and orders
- Work efficiently during busy periods
- Follow store procedures and maintain a professional and friendly attitude
Experience & Skills
- Previous retail or cashier experience is helpful but not essential – full training will be provided
- Good communication skills in English
- Basic maths skills and the ability to handle transactions accurately
- Good organisation and time-management skills
- Friendly and approachable personality
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working flexible and variable shifts
- Willing to help with different tasks around the store
