Purpose of the Role
The Senior Minister / Lead Pastor will provide spiritual, pastoral, and ministerial leadership for Roar Centre Limited’s Christian ministry in the United Kingdom.
The post-holder will have a key leading role within the faith community and will be responsible for preaching and teaching the Christian faith, leading worship and prayer, providing pastoral care, developing disciples and ministry leaders, and overseeing the spiritual life and growth of the UK ministry.
The role is principally pastoral and ministerial in nature.
Roar Centre also conducts international Christian conferences, missions, and ministry activities. The Senior Minister may undertake overseas ministry visits from time to time as part of the role, while supporting the United Kingdom as the principal base of employment and ministry.
Key Responsibilities
Preaching, Teaching and Worship
- Preach and teach the Christian faith at regular worship gatherings, conferences, prayer meetings, and other ministry events.
- Lead and take part in Christian worship, prayer, communion, and other religious observances.
- Prepare sermons, Bible teaching, and ministry programmes.
- Provide theological and spiritual direction to the congregation and wider ministry community.
- Lead prayer, intercession, and other aspects of the spiritual life of Roar Centre.
Pastoral Ministry
- Provide pastoral leadership and spiritual care to members of the congregation and ministry community.
- Counsel, pray with and support individuals and families needing pastoral care.
- Encourage Christian discipleship, spiritual maturity, and active participation in the life of the church.
- Visit and support members of the community where pastoral circumstances require.
- Develop appropriate pastoral-care structures as the UK congregation grows.
Spiritual Leadership
- Provide senior spiritual leadership for Roar Centre’s ministry in the United Kingdom.
- Establish and communicate the spiritual vision and ministry priorities of the organisation.
- Ensure that the ministry’s activities stay consistent with its Christian beliefs, purposes and values.
- Lead and mentor pastors, ministry leaders, worship leaders, volunteers, and other members of the ministry team.
- Identify, train, and develop future Christian ministry leaders.
Church and Ministry Development
- Lead the development of Roar Centre’s regular Christian worship and ministry activities in the UK.
- Develop programmes of discipleship, prayer, Bible teaching, evangelism, and Christian education.
- Encourage the growth and development of the congregation and wider faith community.
- Develop relationships with churches, Christian ministries, and other faith leaders in the United Kingdom.
- Support outreach and evangelistic activity within local communities.
Conferences and Christian Gatherings
- Provide spiritual and ministerial leadership at Roar Centre conferences, worship gatherings, teaching events and other Christian meetings.
- Preach, teach, pray and minister to attendees at these events.
- Help determine the spiritual themes and ministry content of conferences and gatherings.
- Support visiting ministers and speakers and facilitate fellowship and cooperation with other Christian ministries.
International Ministry
Roar Centre has an international Christian ministry and maintains relationships and ministry activities in a number of countries.
As part of the role, the Senior Minister may:
- undertake short-term overseas preaching and ministry assignments;
- participate in international Christian conferences and missions;
- minister alongside partner churches and Christian organisations;
- develop international ministry relationships; and
- represent the UK ministry at appropriate Christian gatherings overseas.
Such international activity will be undertaken as part of the post-holder’s UK-based ministry responsibilities. The principal place of employment and the substantive ministerial role will remain with Roar Centre Limited in the United Kingdom.
Governance and Ministry Oversight
As a senior minister, the post-holder will also contribute to the effective leadership of Roar Centre by:
- advising the directors on spiritual and ministry matters;
- ensuring appropriate safeguarding and pastoral-care practices;
- supporting the development of ministry policies and procedures;
- ensuring ministry activities are conducted responsibly and in accordance with the organisation’s Christian purposes; and
- assisting with the responsible stewardship of ministry resources.
These responsibilities are ancillary to the post-holder’s principal function as a Christian minister and pastoral leader.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will:
- be an experienced Christian minister with a demonstrated calling to pastoral and spiritual leadership;
- have substantial experience of preaching, Bible teaching, prayer and pastoral ministry;
- demonstrate a thorough understanding of Christian scripture, doctrine and ministry practice;
- have experience leading congregations, Christian ministries or significant ministry programmes;
- demonstrate the ability to provide pastoral care and spiritual guidance;
- have experience developing and mentoring Christian leaders;
- be capable of leading large Christian gatherings, conferences and ministry events;
- have experience of cross-cultural and international Christian ministry;
- demonstrate high standards of personal integrity and Christian character; and
- be suitably qualified and experienced to fulfil the duties of a Senior Minister / Lead Pastor.
Reporting and Accountability
The Senior Minister / Lead Pastor will be accountable to the Board of Directors of Roar Centre Limited for the proper fulfilment of the role.
The post-holder will exercise substantial spiritual and pastoral leadership while remaining accountable to the organisation’s governance arrangements and applicable UK legal and regulatory requirements.
Principal Nature of Employment
This is a genuine full-time ministerial and pastoral position.
The core purpose of the role is preaching, teaching, worship, prayer, pastoral care, discipleship, and spiritual leadership within Roar Centre’s UK faith community.
Administrative, organisational, and conference-management activities are incidental to the principal ministerial purpose of the role and will not constitute most of the the post-holder’s duties.
Pay: £50,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
