Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Punch Press Setter/Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating punch presses like Amada Vipros, EM and Strippit models, to efficiently produce high-quality sheet metal components. Your mechanical knowledge, precision, and hands-on skills will drive the success of our team. Duties
- Set up punch presses by installing tooling and adjusting machine settings according to specifications for each job.
- Operate punch presses safely and efficiently to produce sheet metal parts with precision and consistency.
- Monitor machine operation, making adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards and prevent defects.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting of punch press equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Use hand tools and basic math skills to measure, align, and verify dimensions during setup and production runs.
- Assist with fabrication tasks such as grinding, welding, or assembly when required to support manufacturing needs.
- Maintain accurate production records, report any issues promptly, and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in operating and maintaining punch presses or similar machinery.
- Skilled in using hand tools, tooling setups, and basic measurement tools for precise adjustments.
- Knowledge of sheet metal properties and fabrication processes.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements, tolerances, and material estimations.
- Familiarity with assembly processes related to sheet metal components is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to follow technical instructions accurately.

Pay: From £14.75 per hour
