Due to significant growth, Decco Perth is looking for an External Sales Representative to take over a premier patch covering Inverness-shire, and the Highlands & Islands.
This isn't a "start from zero" cold-calling grind. You’ll be inheriting a managed portfolio of well-established independent accounts while hunting for new opportunities in a region where local service and reliability are everything. From the hub of Inverness to the vital independent merchants across the North and Islands, you will be the face of Decco in the North.

The Package
- Base Salary: Competitive; based on experience.
- Company Car: Executive vehicle (equivalent to a BMW 3-Series).
- Pension: 6% matched employer contribution.
- Holiday: 25 days + Public Holidays.
- Expenses: Full business expense and mileage reimbursement.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing the Patch: Nurturing established relationships with independent retailers, hardware stores, and garden centres across Northern Scotland.
- Strategic Growth: Identifying "development accounts" and converting prospects into long-term partners in a region ripe for expansion.
- Journey Planning: Using your autonomy to plan your week effectively, navigating the unique geography of the Highlands and Islands to maximise your time on the road and hit profit targets.
- Forecasting: Working with the Perth team to predict seasonal trends and ensure we stay ahead of the competition.
About You
You don't need to be a DIY expert (we can teach you the products), but you must be a sales expert with the grit to handle a northern territory. We are looking for:
- Proven Field Experience: You know how to manage a diary, plan a complex route, and maintain a CRM.
- Commercial Acumen: You understand that sales is great, but profit is better. You know how to protect margins and provide value.
- The "Hunter" Mentality: You enjoy the win of a new account as much as the steady growth of a long-term partnership.
- Resilience and Autonomy: You are comfortable working independently across a large geographic area and understand the specific needs of businesses in the North and Islands.
- Local Knowledge: Ideally, you are based within the territory (Inverness-shire or Moray area).
