Star Soccer Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and motivated U13 Lead Coach to lead one of our academy teams within our growing player development programme in Leicestershire.
This is an exciting opportunity for a coach who is passionate about developing young players within a structured academy environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality coaching sessions, leading matchdays, and supporting players through an important stage of their football development.
The Role
As U13 Lead Coach, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate training sessions
- Lead and coach the team during weekend fixtures
- Create a positive, challenging, and professional learning environment
- Implement the academy's coaching philosophy and playing principles
- Support the technical, tactical, physical, and psychological development of players
- Monitor player progress and contribute to player reviews
- Build positive relationships with players, parents, and academy staff
- Work collaboratively with fellow coaches and academy leadership
Hours
- 3-5 hours per week
- Midweek evening training sessions
- Weekend matchday commitments
- Additional coaching opportunities may be available for the right candidate
Essential Requirements
- UEFA C Licence (minimum qualification)
- Previous experience coaching players within grassroots, academy, or development football
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Passion for long-term player development
- Professional, reliable, and enthusiastic approach
- Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
- Safeguarding Children Qualification
- Emergency First Aid in Football (or equivalent)
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable Requirements
- UEFA B Licence
- Experience leading an age-group team
- Experience within a player development or academy environment
- Knowledge of individual development planning and player reviews
