We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant (2a) to join the SEND team who will provide high quality and impactful support for our students with barriers to their learning (especially SEMH). This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in SEND and contribute positively to student development. The role requires a proactive individual with strong communication skills and a genuine interest in working with children and individuals with diverse needs.
Duties
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored educational activities for children, including those with SEMH and other disabilities
- Support children’s learning and social development through personalised assistance
- Implement behaviour management strategies in line with individual care plans
- Facilitate communication between children, teachers, and parents to ensure consistent support
- Help organise classroom activities, resources, and materials for effective learning experiences
- Provide emotional support to children, fostering a nurturing environment
- Support the implementation of specialised programmes for children with additional needs
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with SEMH or disabilities is highly desirable
- Prior experience in teaching or educational support roles is advantageous
- Knowledge of special education practices and inclusive teaching methods
- Experience working with children, particularly toddlers, is preferred
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, colleagues, and parents
- Compassionate attitude with a strong commitment to supporting children's development
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Relevant qualifications or training in special education or child development are beneficial but not essential

Pay: £25,185.00-£25,989.00 per year
