Deputy Manager – Residential Care Home

We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to join our established residential care home.
This is a senior leadership role for an experienced care professional who can support the Registered Manager in delivering excellent standards of care, maintaining CQC compliance and providing strong day-to-day leadership to the staff team.
Essential Requirements
Please only apply if you meet the following essential criteria:
- NVQ/QCF Level 5 in Leadership & Management for Adult Care, or equivalent
- Minimum 4–5 years’ experience as a Deputy Manager within a residential care home
- Previous experience working as a Deputy Manager or Care Home Manager
- Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations and Fundamental Standards
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding, MCA, DoLS, medication management, care planning and risk assessments
- Experience with staff supervision, appraisals, competency assessments and performance management
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Ability to confidently manage staff, maintain standards and address performance concerns
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day management of the home
- Provide strong, visible leadership to the care team
- Maintain high standards of person-centred care
- Support CQC compliance and inspection readiness
- Complete and monitor audits, care plans and risk assessments
- Oversee safeguarding, medication and health & safety procedures
- Conduct staff supervisions, appraisals and competency assessments
- Support recruitment, induction and staff development
- Manage staff performance and promote accountability
- Communicate effectively with residents, relatives and healthcare professionals
- Support admissions and assessments where required
- Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence
- Help drive continuous improvement across the home
