Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with children. This role involves creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, ensuring their developmental needs are met while promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
As a childcare provider we are responsible for ensuring that people are suitable to provide care for the children who attend our nursery. Sunflowers is committed to safeguarding our children. All of our team are subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure, ongoing suitability checks and continued safeguarding training and responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Protect children from harm and promote the welfare of babies and young children.
- Provide high-quality care and education for children in the nursery setting.
- Plan and implement engaging activities that promote learning through play.
- Observe and assess children's development, maintaining accurate records of their progress.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive, nurturing community.
- Manage daily routines to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive nursery environment that encourages teamwork, leading to high standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the nursery space.
Qualifications
- A recognised level 3 qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent is essential.
- Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- A genuine passion for childcare and the ability to engage with young learners.
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early years education.
