Workshop Foreman – Agricultural Machinery
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Foreman to join our busy agricultural machinery workshop.
This is a hands-on working foreman role, responsible for the day-to-day running of the workshop and ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the agricultural workshop.
- Organising and prioritising the workload for workshop technicians.
- Allocating jobs and ensuring work is completed within agreed timescales.
- Liaising closely with the Hire Department to ensure hired equipment is inspected, repaired and turned around quickly and efficiently.
- Diagnosing and assisting with the repair and maintenance of agricultural machinery and equipment.
- Supporting technicians with technical advice and problem solving where required.
- Monitoring job progress and ensuring customers' machinery is completed to a high standard.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.
- Ensuring workshop procedures and health and safety requirements are followed.
- Communicating effectively with management, technicians, the hire department and customers where required.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience within an agricultural, plant or machinery workshop.
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
- Experience of supervising or coordinating a team of technicians.
- The ability to prioritise and manage a busy and varied workload.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- A strong focus on quality, efficiency and customer service.
Experience working with agricultural machinery is highly desirable.
