After School Childcare & Family Support Assistant - LIVE OUT
Job Description:
A warm and welcoming private family based near Newbury, Berkshire is seeking a reliable, engaging and proactive individual to provide after-school support for their three children, aged 7, 5 and 4, from September.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and is looking for a long-term, part-time role with a lovely young family.
Responsibilities
- Collecting the children from school and safely transporting them to and from after-school activities.
- Supporting homework, reading and other age-appropriate learning.
- Planning fun, engaging and creative activities for the children at home.
- Encouraging good routines and helping the children develop confidence and independence.
- Preparing simple evening meals or snacks for the children if required.
- Creating a safe, happy and nurturing environment where the children can thrive.
The Ideal Candidate
- We are looking for a caring, proactive and dependable individual with previous experience working with children.
- Nannying experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Confident supporting homework and encouraging a positive approach to learning.
- Enjoys engaging children in fun, educational and age-appropriate activities.
- Warm, patient and able to create a happy, structured after-school routine.
- Organised, reliable and able to use their own initiative.
- A confident driver with a minimum of 8 years' driving experience and a clean driving licence.
- Flexible and happy to provide additional support during school holidays and occasional weekends.
For candidates with additional skills or experience, there may be the opportunity to increase weekly hours by undertaking further family support duties.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, approximately 3:00pm – 7:00/7:30pm
- Approximately 20–25 hours per week
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends and additional hours during school holidays is essential.
- Salary: Competitive, depending on experience.
